Antonio Citterio

Italian architect and industrial designer Antonio Citterio is the co-founder of the architecture and interior design firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel (ACPV Architects). Working on large-scale global projects for some of the world’s most prestigious brands, the practice gives shape to “spaces that embody a new culture and shared well-being.”

Previously, Citterio worked with architect Terry Dwan designing buildings in Europe and Japan. For more than a decade he served as a professor of Architectural Design at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture in Switzerland. In 2008, Citterio was honored with the title of “Royal Designer for Industry” by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce of London. He is also a two-time recipient of the prestigious Compasso d’Oro-ADI, and his work has been exhibited at MoMA in NYC, and the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris.

In 2021, Antonio Citterio and the team at ACPV Architects produced “The Importance of Being an Architect,” a documentary film that investigates the responsibility of architects in building the society of tomorrow. The film has been featured in several festivals worldwide.
